YOU'VE GOT SECONDS TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION

I've been making some changes behind the scenes at Design You Marketing lately, including taking a closer look at how all the different pieces of marketing work together.

And you know what? It's reminded me of something I see all the time when working with small business owners.

Most businesses don't need MORE marketing. They need to make better use of what they already have.

A website, social media, email marketing, Google Business Profile... they're all great tools, but they work a whole lot better when they're connected.

That's what inspired me to start this weekly marketing newsletter.

Each week, I'll share a practical marketing tips, something I've learned along the way, or an idea you can put to work in your own business.

Nothing complicated. Just a little marketing know-how to help make things easier.

THIS WEEK'S MARKETING TIP

Is Your Website Making People Think Too Hard?

Here's a little exercise you can do in about 30 seconds. Pull up your website's homepage and pretend you are a website visitor and you are on your website for the very first time.

Now ask yourself, are these three things ridiculously obvious?

What you offer: Can visitors immediately understand what your business does?

Who you help: Is it clear who your products or services are for?

What to do next: Is there an obvious next step for visitors to take?

If someone has to dig around to figure these things out, your website might be making them work a little too hard.

And let's face it, nobody wants to solve a mystery just to figure out how to hire you.

Try this: Take a look at the very first section of your homepage. Make sure it clearly communicates what you offer, who you help, and gives visitors an easy next step.

Sometimes a clearer headline or a better button can make a big difference.

UNTIL NEXT MONDAY...

I hope you found something useful in this issue.

And if you ever have a website or marketing question, feel free to hit reply. I love talking about this stuff.
